Depending on the individual clinicallaboratory needs it is common practice for instrument manufacturers to offer the choice of more than one analyser. These instruments can be entirely different or more often belong to the same family, differing only in terms of capacity and specific performance characteristics.
The goal of this study was to evaluate equivalency of the AEROSET® and ARCHITECT® c8000 (Abbott). Using a validation protocol created for this specific purpose we have compared the performance of 17 IVD products (Sentinel CH, Milan, Italy) on the 2 instruments with regard to precision, accuracy and cross-interference.
